[EP-tech] Antwort: Retroactively populating ORCID and Researcherid

Hi Martin,
Many thanks for the suggestions.

I will investigate BatchEdit-extended as a first preference as we will have several hundred records to update; if I?m unable to make the changes I need I will look for another tool or simply recommend manually updating the affected records.

Thanks,
Karl.

Hi Karl,

there are two options:
- the BatchEdit tool improved by Peter West (and commissioned by us) to work with multi-fields such as the creators field. - however, ORCID recommends to use authenticated iDs only. In the ORCID Tier2 plugin by Peter West that we use, we had let implement a tab so that authors (or a delegated user) can tag their publications with their ORCID iD. Please contact Peter West for details.

Best regards,

Martin

Hi,

I?ve had a request to update several fields including ORCID and Researcherid for an academic who?s ORCID ID is only on ~10% of their contributions.

Before I do something dangerous in the DB I?m wondering if there is an existing tool which can be used to bulk update those fields from CLI instead.

Thanks,
Karl.
