Hi Liz (and others),

I believe I have now fixed this issue and can login like before.  Liz:
Please could you confirm this is also the case for you.

For those technically interested the issue was due to PHP being upgraded
but php.ini having a setting that would prevent login for working,
namely the "session.referer_check".  I have now set to 'Off' based on
the advice at:
