It states that the characters are very small for a mobile phone.

Mobile usability in EPrints has more to do with the template EPrints is embedded in that EPrints per se. I've had a look at your site and it seems fairly responsive (layout changes as the window gets smaller). With such a vague message, it's hard to know what to do with it.
