Xapian will be the default if you have it installed. If you want to
disable it you can do:

$c->{plugins}{"Search::Xapian"}{params}{disable} = 1;

(But Xapian should provide a much better search experience)

Change the "default_order" to "byrelevance" in your simple search
config.
