RE: [EP-tech] Confusion in folders for custom plugins

CAUTION: This e-mail originated outside the University of Southampton.

Hi, we do things like this in cfg.d/plugins.cfg to use our custom DublinCore exporter:

$c->{plugin_alias_map}->{"Export::DC"}             = "Export::QUTEPrints::DC";

$c->{plugin_alias_map}->{"Export::QUTEPrints::DC"} = undef;

I assume it’s roughly the same in EPrints 3.4

Cheers

Subject: [EP-tech] Confusion in folders for custom plugins

Hi

I am puzzled about the correct location of custom plugins. I have export and import plugins at these locations:

  • /opt/eprints3/archives/arcom/cfg/plugins/EPrints/Plugin/Export/MyPlugins/RIS.pm
  • /opt/eprints3/archives/arcom/cfg/plugins/EPrints/Plugin/Import/RIS.pm

But the only way I can get them to be noticed by Eprints is if I overwrite the shipped versions in these locations:

  • /opt/eprints3/flavours/pub_lib/plugins/EPrints/Plugin/Export/RIS.pm
  • /opt/eprints3/flavours/pub_lib/plugins/EPrints/Plugin/Import/RIS.pm

Is there some secret sauce I am missing? I want to keep all my customizations in subfolders of /opt/eprints3/archives/arcom/cfg – to keep everything honest when it comes to upgrades!

Best wishes
