Hi David,
I am not using SELinux on my server. I also checked the
cfg.d/session.pl
file, and I did not find any configuration related to
$ENV{tmp_dir}
. Below is the full content of my session.pl
file for reference, This issue only appeared in the past few days, whereas previously there was no problem with uploading files. Regards
Jokoe

If you can upload only very small files*, it is likely that your temporary directory that buffers files until they are fully uploaded and can be moved to the documents directory is not accessible by EPrints running on Apache. Checking your configuration, in particular your archive or lib's cfg.d/session.pl and see what it says for $ENV{tmp_dir}. Then make sure the user that is running Apache has permissions to write to that directory.
If $ENV{tmp_dir} is not set it would still be useful to know what user Apache is running as. Also do you have SELinux enabled. If so, it is worth putting this in permissive mode and restart Apache to see if you can then upload larger files.

David Newman*Very small files will upload in a single chunk and therefore don't need to be buffered.
