[EP-tech] First release candidate for EPrints 3.4.7 and metatags ingredient

Hi all,

EPrints 3.4.7 release candidate 1

We have just produced the first release candidate for EPrints 3.4.7:

    https://github.com/eprints/eprints3.4/releases/tag/v3.4.7-rc1

There may be a further release candidate before a full release for 3.4.7 planned at the end of this month (August).  There will be a few minor changes before the final release, as part of the release schedule. There may also some fixes to bugs, if they are detected as part of this process.

I would strongly advise only installing EPrints 3.4.7-rc1 if you want to preview the next release and/or provide feedback on any bugs or snags.  There has been modest testing (both manual and automated) prior to producing this release candidate.  Therefore, there is liable to still be the odd snag, especially when interacting with ingredients, Bazaar plugins and/or bespoke configuration.

metatags ingredient

EPrints has not previously had default support for Highwire Press [1] and PRISM [2] meta tags, now favoured by Google Scholar.  As well as being included in 3.4.7 by default, the metatags ingredients provides a means to enable these meta tags on earlier version of EPrints 3.4.x.  For more information, please see:

    https://github.com/eprints/metatags

Where you can clone or download an initial (full) release of this ingredient.

Regards

David Newman
