[EP-tech] Perl modules etc for EPrints Preview

Thanks Justin!

Is there a recommended way to remove 3.3.15? I also presume that I need to set up database connections for 3.4, or can I just point it at the 3.3.15 database?

Hi Andrew,

If you install 3.3.15 from its .deb package, that should pull in the dependencies you need for 3.4.
Then remove it again without uninstalling the deps too.

That should put you in a good place to try 3.4.

We?ll get a 3.4 deb file build soon to help with this.

Regards,
            Justin

Hello all!

Very good to meet some of you in Dublin last week! I?m just trying to tackle getting the recently released EPrints 3.4 Preview onto a fresh Ubuntu VBox machine, however I?m having some issues relating to required perl modules. I?ve LAMP?d the machine up, grabbed and untarred the EPrints files however I always seem to be missing a Perl library every time I go to create a new EPrints. Is there a ?one-shot? solution to getting all the required modules, or is there a list of everything that needs installing before EPrints will work?

Andrew
