[EP-tech] Antwort: Re: subjects - ROOT

You can import an XML subjects file, which supports multilingual trees.

Here a snippet:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<subjects xmlns='http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0'>
  <subject id='http://www.zora.uzh.ch/id/subject/10001'>
    <subjectid>10001</subjectid>
    <rev_number>3</rev_number>
    <name>
      <item>
        <name>Center for Ethics</name>
        <lang>en</lang>
      </item>
      <item>
        <name>Ethik-Zentrum</name>
        <lang>de</lang>
      </item>
    </name>
    <parents>
      <item>10168</item>
    </parents>
    <depositable>TRUE</depositable>
  </subject>

ROOT is a magic node that sits above everything.

I would suggest, if you're building a tree from scratch, that you don't use
the subject editor, but create an import a subjects file or an XML file.
The subjects file format doesn't handle multilingual, but it's easier to
create and edit. Perhaps create your tree as a subjects file, import it,
then use the subject tree editor to edit each node and add the alternative
language.

Have you seen my training video that covers a lot of this stuff? It's
linked to from the training course page at
