[EP-tech] Re: [Urgent] transfer all data into new server

Ok...

Is it mean that i can just simply install the latest version then bring
all the sql and the document to the new server or

Install the same version (current) then do the upgrade command..

See, i'm going from 3.0.3 to 3.3.9 which in the wiki got explain / manual
to move 3.0 - 3.1 - 3.3 (
http://wiki.eprints.org/w/Upgrading_EPrints_3_versions )

Do i have to run upgrade several times or just can jump to the stable +
current version>

Hi,

I do a mysql dump of the database and tar the documents folder.
Copy both files to the new server and reverse the above.
I think you have to run epadmin update afterwards.

Thanks,
Malcolm.

Subject: [EP-tech] [Urgent] transfer all data into new server

Hello all...

I got really urgent matter..

Seem that my current server hdd reach its limit..

The mysqld service fail to run, then i remove some files and it started
work...

I think its only temporary.

So i plan setup new server which i'll install latest version of
eprints..(3.0.3 ---> 3.3.9)

Now the question, HOW TO I TRANSFER THE CURRENT DATA INTO THE NEW ONE?

Is there any tools provided or just transfer the archive folder into the
new one??
