Dear All,

there are two independent demands:

I. PubMed-Import: In which case would you recommend to work with PM
PubMedID, and in which case with PM PubMedXML? The solution of the
problem of missing PubmedArticle tags (from 2007-06-21 12:02:53) is
working with Bibtex or Endnote in consequence. Is this still valid?

I. The output of bin/explain_sql_tables seems not really up to date
compared to tables I actually see. Or is there a mistake on my side?

Thanks.
Andrea

PubMedID is a simple wrapper around PubMedXML that retrieves the XML
using the PubMed Web interface and passes it to the PubMedXML plugin. If
the record isn't in PubMed or can't be found by it's identifier then you
will have to use another method!

Yer, explain_sql_tables is a bit of out of date. In 3.1 it's been
replaced by a new screen on the Admin page that provides more up to date
information.

Which tables do you want to know about?

All the best,
Tim.

Hi Tim,

thank you for your immediate answer. Response inline

So PM PubMedID must get file of IDs? Or could one by some means or other
alternatively download direct?

Primarily I intended to get a general overview. But e.g. I was looking
for the coherence of tables eprint and document, the update of table
user_saved_searches.

all the best,

Andrea
