http://mailman.ecs.soton.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/eprints-tech *** EPrints community wiki - http://wiki.eprints.org/ Dear All, We've been experiencing issues with EPrints (v3.1.2.1) where numerous Apache processes are spawned consuming large amounts of memory ultimately resulting in the system becoming unusable if unchecked. Modifications to the Apache configuration have limited the number of processes that can be spawned but this has had an effect on performance. This only occurs intermittently and for the majority of the time the EPrints runs fine. Looking at the logs/netstat I'm wondering if this could be web crawler related? Has anyone had similar issues or can offer any advice?
