On two occasions in the last couple of months this server has halted for no apparent reason. What has happened is this: I have attempted to connect to the server using SSH Secure Shell. This connection appears to be successful but a command prompt never appears -- this is the first indication that something is amiss. I then try to connect to the server using TightVNC, but this too fails. I check to see if EPrints is accessible and find that it is not. The only option I am left with is to physically turn off the server, then turn it back on. Has anyone else encountered this with an Ubuntu server?
