I thought the solution would be to use a unique email address for each author. There are two problems with this approach. Firstly the email format we use is of the form J.P.Smith AT reading.ac.uk and if try searching for this the search will ignore the J P ac and uk so it would find all the Smiths's at reading. Secondly when I try using the username instead of the email address the search does not find a match. This leads me to believe that the search is not searching the creator_id. This is true for the simple search and the creator field in the advanced search. Where is the field that simple search uses defined and fields searched in the advanced search when creators is used?
