Hi,

we do have the same problems as David: EP3RC1 on a Suse Linux
Enterprise Server 10 box (Apache 2.2.3, mod_perl 2.0.2, Perl 5.8.8).

The symptom is that the "Screens" in /cgi/users/home don't work as
expected. That is if you klick on a link leading to a screen page, a
page is loaded and the correct URL in the browsers address field is
shown. However, quite often the page shown is the same as before or
(most of the time) is the screen=User::View.

We found this behaviour for different browsers on different PCs and
under Windows and Linux. Nothing shows up in the apache error log.

It appears as if this bug can happen to all screens and we thoght that
you never know in advance when this will happen. However, waiting for
about 20 seconds after login before klicking any other screen page
seems to circumvent the bug.

Hope this helps.

Helge

.. and there you go. I have just written the last email to you (and
the list) and the error goes.

 * If I log in and count to 10, the bug maifests.
 * If I log in and then count to 20, the bug does not manifest.
 * If I login, count to 10, and click a button, I then am brought

back

to zero, because I have to count to 20 all over again to get to the
point where the bug does not manifest.

Hopefully that gives some help.

David.

Please upgrade to RC-2 and see if that still occurs.

I have a browser issue with EP3 too, but don't know if it is just

an

individual incidence or a potential problem.

We are running EP3 Beta3.0, and when I try to deposit item using

Firefox, during the standard workflow, in the second step "upload",
after I select file for new document input form, clicking "upload"
buttom brings error message "Document creation failed." and in

server

site there is no directory created nor file uploaded. But using IE

for

same file works well. This happened to only one of our several PCs

we

tried. This PC uses Windows XP professional, Firefox 1.5.0.9, IE 6.0.

David,

I don't have eprints3; but I don't have any problem with "new

item"

using Firefox on the demo site.

In fact, going a step further, I've not really had problems using
Firefox with anything.

Hi,

I think I might have spotted a potential problem with the Firebox
browser as opposed to IE.

When I log in as a user, and then press the "New Item" button, I

should

be taken to a new page, where I can begin adding details. This

works

fine in IE, but not in Firefox.

I am using IE7 nad FireFox 2.

Has anyone else had this problem?

David.
