Fastest EPrints in the East?

In December 2005, the EPrints team travelled to Bulgaria to take part in an Institutional Repositories training course. Sponsored by the Open Society Institute, and run by Lillian van der Vaart, the course was attended by delegates from the New Bulgarian University (Bulgaria), Moscow State University (Russia), IEDC Bled School of Management (Slovenia) and American University Central Asia (Krygyzstan).
As well as talks on setting up an IR, Open Access and IP protection, the three day course included several practical sessions exploring EPrints biodiversity, deposit workflow, installation and configuration.
The Bulgarian hosts set a new precedent for EPrints uptake by getting their own EPrints repository up and running by the time the "How to install EPrints" session had finished!
