In order to guarantee, promote the integration, share and give visibility of the intellectual memory of the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança publish and allow free access of all institutional scientific publications through Digital Library (Biblioteca Digital), its institutional repository (
http://bibliotecadigital.ipb.pt).
The Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (IPB) follows a mandatory
politics of deposit to all publications written by its Instructors and
Investigators. All Digital Library documents must be deposited through
self-archiving. The Digital Library of IPB is the official record of
the intellectual production of IPB. These rules respect the author’s
copyright. So:
a) All scientific documents, the ones for which authors retain their rights,
or at least the right to self-archive them, must be deposited on the Digital
Library of IPB in free access (which means no restrictions in free full
text)
b) Documents that cannot be deposited due to copyright
issues must be deposied and kept in restricted access.
c) Patents and confidential scientific or technical production must be
deposited in restricted access, in order to guarantee its character.
Following the Berlin Declaration (signed in 2009/09/08) the Instituto
Politécnico de Bragança (IPB) recommends the publication of scientific
articles in publications/journals in free access.
It recommends also that
all members to keep their authors rights that guarantee the right to
deposit a copy in the IPB’s Digital Library.
